Apple should pick up canceled shows like ‘Manifest’

mercredi 23 juin 2021, 16:23 , par Mac Minute
NBC has canceled “Manifest” and is apparently not even giving it a movie to wind up its storyline. Perhaps Apple should give it a home.
In an article for “Pajiba”in the long ago days of 2013, Steve Lloyd Wilson said that Netflix could democratize television by becoming the “white knight” that rescues beloved TV series canned by the networks. But why not Apple instead?
Netflix got tons of publicity — and accolades — for its revival of the short-lived-but-critically-acclaimed comedy, “Arrested Development.” Folks were hoping that Netflix would revive other shows that died before their time. It hasn’t (and said “no” to continuing “Manifest”), though it has saved some canned shows such as “Designated Survivor.”
“Manifest” is one of the most-streamed shows on Netflix. Imagine the good will, and perhaps considerable viewers, that Apple would gain if the series continued, or at least concluded, on its streaming platform. And what if there had been a home for excellent shows like “Firefly” to continue and perhaps gain a bigger audience.
What say ye, Apple?
