Apple TV+ award nominations piling up with nine from NAACP Image Awards

On Tuesday, the 53rd annual NAACP Image Awards nominations were announced, with Apple TV+ pulling down nine nominations for its original films and series.Five Apple Original films have received nominations, including Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for stars Denzel Washington and Mahershala Ali in acclaimed Apple Original films 'The Tragedy of Macbeth' and 'Swan Song.'Apple also received major category nominations for Outstanding Independent Motion Picture for 'CODA,' and Outstanding Documentary for '1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything.'
