Nothing kills the magic of the moment more than wading through a tangle of cables, just trying to get a synth hooked up and lay down an idea. Imagine instead having your favourite synths, keyboards and guitars always selectable in an instant. The SS-6 does away with the headache and gets your head back in the game of making music.

The SS-6 is a stereo, transformer-balanced DI box with six stereo inputs selectable via a large and robust rotary control. Leave six stereo or twelve mono synths, drum machines, keyboard instruments or guitars permanently connected to one pair of your preamps or inputs and simply take your pick on the SS-6 whenever you need them.

Anyone with a collection of synthesisers, drum machines and guitar sources knows frustration of tripping over cables, constantly patching and re-patching as the sound sources are required. The traditional solution of connecting all of the sources to a small mixing desk gets the job done, but adds extra noise, colouration and distortion which really adds up as you layer your instruments. The alternative, an audio interface with enough inputs to accommodate your entire collection is an excessive and costly solution to a seemingly simple problem.

The SS-6 accepts the signal from 6 stereo or 12 mono sources and feeds them into two high quality transformer balanced DI boxes. Simply connect the SS-6 to a pair of mic preamps, and your sources are now always just a switch away. In case you already have a favourite pair of DI boxes, the SS-6 features through connectors that bypass the internal DIs.

The beauty of the SS-6 lies in its simplicity. We have gone to painstaking lengths to ensure it is transparent, functional and totally indestructible. Once set up the SS-6 gets out of your way and lets you get back to what’s important, the music.
6 stereo (or 12 mono) inputs on ¼” Neutrik TS jacks to accept signals from most synthesisers, keyboards and guitars.
2 high quality transformer balanced DI units that feed left and right microphone level outputs on male Neutrik XLR connectors, ensuring a lifetime of reliable connectivity.
Left and right “through” connectors on ¼” Neutrik TS jacks that bypass the DI section of the SS-6, allowing the user to use their own favourite DI box if they prefer. The through can also be connected to a tuner or amplifier for creative routing solutions.
Input select switch on a high quality, durable and clearly labelled rotary control.
2 ground lift switches on high quality large toggles for solving group loop related noise issues.
Housed in a Hammond Engineering dicast aluminium enclosure for durability and excellent shielding.
