Apple Watch 7 Unveiled: Apple's latest wearable is here
lundi 25 janvier 2021, 17:01 , par The Inquirer
The Apple Watch 7 has been officially announced as part of Apple’s latest tech line-up.
After plenty of leaks and rumours, the curtain has been pulled back on the Apple Watch 7 and there’s plenty of features to run through. This is a developing story so check back for updates… Apple Watch 7 release date and price Despite all of the upgrades that you can read about below, the Apple Watch 7 will retail for the exact same price as its predecessor, starting at $399 (UK pricing TBC). There’s no official launch date given just yet, other than Apple stating that the Watch 7 will be available sometime in the autumn months. Apple Watch 7 design Despite an almost overwhelming amount of evidence to the contrary, this is not the year that the Apple Watch will be going with a major redesign and a flat aesthetic to more closely mirror the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 range. If anything, the Apple Watch 7 will actually be rounder and smoother than its predecessors, with a screen that falls further to the edges than ever. That larger screen also includes a size change, bumping up to 41 and 45mm options as opposed to the 40 and 44mm standard that we’ve become accustomed to. The Apple Watch 7 on the other hands feels like a very iterative update, focusing largely on the new display, improving the overall durability of the device and giving charging a bump in speed. The new screen now spills over the edges of the Apple Watch 7, allowing for more information to be crammed into a single screen. Several new watch faces are being included to make use of the larger display, including a new Modular watch face that allows for two large graphs to be displayed alongside the time. To ensure that the new screen doesn’t get scratched or scuffed, Apple’s made sure to upgrade the Watch 7 to an official IP6X certification, making it fully protected from any pesky dust particles that might want to do the internals harm. That also includes the same standard WR50 water resistance found on the Watch 6. Unfortunately there’s no major update to the battery life, with Apple still quoting an 18-hour lifespan, but to make things slightly easier, fast charging has now been implemented. As an example, Apple mentioned that a quick 8-minute charge would allow for 8 hours of sleep tracking – a particularly handy improvement as means of making sleep tracking a genuinely viable option with the Apple Watch’s limited battery life.
