Epic Games claims Apple stalling launch of its game store in Europe
vendredi 5 juillet 2024, 14:38 , par Mac Daily News
Epic Games, creator of “Fortnite,” accuses Apple of hindering their efforts to establish a game store for iPhones and iPads in Europe. This intensifies their ongoing feud over Apple’s dominance of the iOS app market. Epic claims Apple rejected their launch documents for the Epic Games Store twice, citing similarities in button and label design to Apple’s own App Store.
Reuters: “We are using the same “Install” and “In-app purchases” naming conventions that are used across popular app stores on multiple platforms, and are following standard conventions for buttons in iOS apps,” Epic said in a series of posts on X. “Apple’s rejection is arbitrary, obstructive, and in violation of the DMA (Digital Markets Act), and we’ve shared our concerns with the European Commission,” it said.
