Apple expects 67% of iPhone 16 sales to be Pro models
vendredi 23 août 2024, 16:16 , par Mac Daily News
LG Innotech has secured a significant contract to supply the initial volume of folded zoom camera modules for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 series. This innovative technology, which was first introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro Max, offers enhanced telephoto capabilities.
Folded zoom modules use a periscope-style design to capture high-quality images at extended distances. Apple is expected to expand the availability of this feature to both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models this year. The initial volume of folded zoom modules supplied by LG Innotech for iPhone 16 Pro models is estimated to account for 67% of the total iPhone 16 series production by the end of 2024. TheElec via machine translation: As of last month, the parts industry estimated that Apple’s production plan for four finished iPhone 16 series by the end of this year was 90.1 million units. By model, 24.5 million units (27%) of the general type, 5.8 million units (6%) [Plus model], 26.6 million units of Pro (30%), 33.2 million units of Pro Max (37%)… The proportion of 2 types of professional lineup is 67%. Apple plans to produce folded zoom for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max through Cowell or Foxconn in the fourth quarter after the completion of the initial production. From Apple’s point of view, if the supply chain is diversified, the cost of parts will be lower and it will be easier to expand in the future. MacDailyNews Take: When the time comes to spend the money, you might as well go Pro, as they are now well-differentiated from the standard iPhone models and will only separate themselves further next month.
