Apple’s digital driver’s licenses come to Hawaii

To add a state ID or driver’s license to Apple Wallet, customers will be asked to scan their physical ID card and take a selfie, which is securely sent to the issuing state for verification.
This week, Apple is rolling out support for digital IDs in Apple Wallet to iPhone users in Hawaii. When Hawaiian driver’s license holders tap on the option in their Apple Wallet app, they might see an option to join a waitlist: “Thank you for your interest in adding your driver’s license to Wallet. Due to high volume, the service is currently busy. Do you want to be notified when it becomes available?” Chance Miller for 9to5Mac: With the addition of Hawaii, Apple’s Ids in Wallet feature is now available or rolling out in seven states: • Ohio • Maryland • Arizona • Georgia • Colorado • California (coming soon) • Hawaii (gradually rolling out) MacDailyNews Note: In the listed states, here’s how iPhone users can add their Driver’s License or State ID to Apple Wallet: Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap the + icon in the top right corner Choose Driver’s License or State ID Tap Add to iPhone and Apple Watch or Add to iPhone Depending on the state, users may be required to log in to the state’s motor vehicles website in order to authorize adding your Driver’s License or State ID to Apple Wallet.
