Annette Bening joins Anya Taylor-Joy in Apple TV+ series ‘Lucky’

Apple TV+ will expand its award-winning original series lineup with “Lucky,” a new limited drama set to star Golden Globe Award winner, SAG Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Queen’s Gambit,” “The Menu,” “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” and upcoming “The Gorge” and “Sacrifice”), who will also serve as executive producer. Annette Bening has officially signed on to the project. “Lucky” is based on the New York Times bestselling novel and Reese’s Book Club pick of the same name by Marissa Stapley.
In “Lucky,” Taylor-Joy stars as a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.

Bening is expected to portray the role of a dangerous mob leader, named Priscilla.
The upcoming crime drama is created and executive produced by Jonathan Tropper (The Adam Project), who will also serve as a showrunner with Cassie Pappas.
In addition to leading the cast, Taylor-Joy is also executive producing through her LadyKiller banner, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine. The miniseries is part of Tropper’s overall deal with Apple TV+.
This marks Taylor-Joy’s latest collaboration with Apple TV+, after working together in the upcoming genre-bending sci-fi action movie The Gorge.
