Peloton hires Apple Services exec as new marketing chief

Peloton, under new CEO Peter Stern, appointed a new chief marketing officer and chief technology officer as part of its recent executive changes.

Megan Imbres, a managing director for marketing communications within Apple Inc.’s services group, will run marketing at the fitness company, according to a statement Thursday. Francis Shanahan, formerly Peloton’s senior vice president of connected fitness software, will be its new CTO.
The head of marketing role has been a revolving door at Peloton, with Imbres being the third person to take the position in less than three years. She’ll report to Stern while Shanahan reports to Nick Caldwell, Peloton’s chief product officer. Imbres will oversee the brand’s product marketing, growth marketing and member engagement, among other areas.
The latest executive changes are a continuation of Peloton’s efforts to deliver on a turnaround.
