Apple’s 2025 roadmap is reportedly missing a major product badly in need of an update

With WWDC in Apple’s rearview mirror, we can now all turn our attention to the next round of hardware releases coming in September. We already know the iPhone 17 is on the way, but a new report claims one product we were expecting this year might not arrive. Jeff Pu of GF Securities has issued his latest Apple Product Timeline (via @Jukanlosreve on X), and it includes some expected products, including the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3. The new watches will almost certainly launch alongside new iPhones in September, as Apple has done every year since the Apple Watch arrived in 2015. This year, however, we were also expecting new AirPods Pro to arrive, as it’s been three years since Apple last updated its high-end earbuds. But Pu says the new earbuds aren’t coming this year; instead, they’re slated for a 2026 release. That could mean we’re waiting another 12 months for the next generation of AirPods Pro, as Apple typically launches new earbuds in September. On a happier note, Pu does expect Apple’s so-called HomePad to arrive later this year. He describes the device as having a six-inch screen, which is somewhat smaller than previous rumors, which pegged the device as having a 7-inch screen. The HomePad is rumored to be a Siri-powered smart-home hub with a square touchscreen display. Apple will presumably launch the device in the fall, either alongside the iPhone 17 or at a separate event in October. Elsewhere, Pu expects Apple to refresh the Vision Pro next year and launch a new cheaper Vision Air model in 2027, along with its first pair of smart glasses.
