Apple expands presence in India with new Bangalore retail store
Apple is intensifying its expansion in India, a key growth market, with a new retail store set to open in Bangalore’s upscale Phoenix Mall of Asia on September 2, 2025, according to Bloomberg News.
This marks Apple’s third store in India, following flagship outlets in Mumbai and Delhi, both inaugurated in 2023 with CEO Tim Cook in attendance. The move underscores Apple’s strategic push to capture India’s burgeoning smartphone market, where iPhones hold a 5% share among over 700 million users, per Counterpoint Research.
India’s vast population and rising demand offer significant growth potential, with Apple’s revenue in the country surging 30% to $8 billion in the fiscal year ending March 2024, driven largely by iPhone sales.
Alongside retail expansion, Apple is ramping up iPhone 17 production across five Indian factories, including new facilities by Tata Group and Foxconn, to reduce reliance on China amid global trade tensions.
MacDailyNews Take: Apple has tremendous headroom for growth in India!
