It’s now really easy to switch from Spotify to Apple Music

Earlier this year, we reported on a new service being tested in Australia and New Zealand that let disgruntled Spotify users transfer music libraries and playlists to Apple Music. Now that service is coming to the rest of the world. According to an Apple support document, the ability to transfer your library and playlists to Apple Music is available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, the U.K., and the U.S. The service, which is powered by SongShift and available in the Apple Music app or on the web, works to add your saved music and playlists that you’ve created in other music services, such as Spotify, to your Apple Music library. While the tool lets you transfer saved songs, albums, and playlists, what makes it over “varies and is determined by the service,” Apple cautions. Along with Spotify, the tool works with Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, and YouTube Music. To get started, head over to the Apple Music app or music.apple.com on the web and sign in with your Apple ID. Then head over to settings and find the “Transfer Music” option and choose the service you want to transfer from. Once the transfer is finished, you will likely see a message that says “Some Music Needs Review.” That could include podcasts, exclusive tracks, or Spotify-curated playlists, which won’t be able to transfer. If you’re still using Spotify, here are a few reasons you might want to switch. And when you do, it’ll be real easy to start listening like you never left Spotify.
