![]() Apple is shifting focus from revamping its Vision Pro goggles to developing AI-powered smart glasses to rival Meta’s offerings, per Bloomberg News‘ Mark Gurman. Staff previously working on a lighter, cheaper Vision Pro are now being reassigned to the smart glasses project. Aisha Malik for TechCrunch: Bloomberg reports that the tech giant is developing at least two types of smart glasses. The first model, nicknamed N50, will pair with an iPhone and not have its own display. Apple reportedly plans to unveil these smart glasses as soon as next year and release them in 2027. The second version of smart glasses that the company is working on include a display. These glasses would compete with the Meta Ray-Ban Display, which were unveiled last month. While Apple had planned to release this version of its smart glasses in 2028, the company is now working to expedite development. MacDailyNews Take: Again, as we wrote last evening, “Meta isn’t that far ahead. Apple can catch and surpass them with the next-gen Siri and, most importantly, the company’s insurmountable ecosystem advantage.” Please help support MacDailyNews — and enjoy subscriber-only articles, comments, chat, and more — by subscribing to our Substack: macdailynews.substack.com.
