Apple is reportedly seeking a new head of artificial intelligence as John Giannandrea, the company’s current AI chief. Giannandrea has purportedly led Apple’s AI strategy since 2018. The search for his replacement comes as Apple intensifies its attempt to catch up on Generative AI (GenAI) that blindsided the company.

More executive changes are on the horizon at Apple, Bloomberg News has reported. The company is searching for a replacement for John Giannandrea, its artificial intelligence chief. And Lisa Jackson, head of environment and government affairs, is considering retirement.
Johny Srouji, who leads Apple’s chip division and recently launched the company’s first cellular modem, is also evaluating his future at the tech giant.

Apple pays and has been paying John Giannandrea, Senior Vice President of Machine Learning and AI Strategy, millions upon millions of dollars for years. WTF of any import does he really do? WTF of any import has he really delivered? Have you used Siri lately? Yup, it’s still a steaming pile of dogshit.
Where’s Apple’s generative AI, John? “Too hard; too late; look for partners; gimme my paycheck and stock options.”
