Apple brings the App Store to the web

It’s a strange thing to consider novel in 2025, but Apple has finally put its complete App Store on the web. You can search and browse the App Store for all of Apple’s platforms, in their entirety. Just select the platform in the upper left: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision, Watch, or Apple TV. Naturally you can’t actually download apps from any web browser, but there are share buttons, and on the Mac, links to open the app on the Mac App Store. Other than that, this appears to be a more or less complete App Store experience. There are full reviews, descriptions, update history, even Apple’s Privacy “Nutrition Labels.” You can browse Apple’s promotional stories and lists as well. With very few exceptions, this is the same experience you get on each platform, only freely available on the web. The App Store on the web includes all of Apple’s promotional stories.Foundry Individual apps used to have web listings but they were quite limited in scope, and the broader App Store—able to browse and search at will—could only be found by opening the App Store app on an Apple device.
