Apple releases new firmware betas for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4
jeudi 27 février 2025, 22:32 , par Mac Daily News
![]() Apple has rolled out a fresh developer beta firmware update for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4, but the specifics of what’s included in this release remain under wraps for now. Marko Zivkovic for AppleInsider: Thursday’s developer beta increases the build number to 7E5080a, up from the previous 7E5067b update, released in January 2025. This beta software release is available for AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2, both the USB-C and Lightning models. The software won’t be released for AirPods Max or other non-H2 devices. Though the exact contents of Thursday’s developer beta are unclear, the software likely includes bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements rather than new features. Apple has not provided any release notes for this beta software update. MacDailyNews Take: To get the AirPods beta firmware installed, you’ll need a free, registered developer account. Then, here’s what to do: Make sure Developer Mode is turned on by heading to Settings > Privacy & Security > Developer Mode. If it’s already active—or after you’ve switched it on—navigate to Settings > Developer. Scroll near the bottom and tap Pre-Release Beta Firmware under AirPods Testing. Pick the AirPods you want to sign up for the beta.
