An Epic defection? The Division 2 won't release on Steam

When the Epic Games Store was unveiled last month, I said Valve should be scared. “Epic doesn’t need to convince players [to leave Steam],” I wrote, “It only needs to convince developers.” And that seemed eminently doable, given Epic was offering developers an additional 8 to 18 percent of revenue, depending on sales. “If enough developers decide the grass is greener on Epic’s platform, we could see a slow trickle and then an eventual exodus.”Today’s the start of that exodus, I think. This morning we got news that Ubisoft will release The Division 2 on the Epic Games Store in March. The press release is pretty standard fare.
