A new Microsoft wireless ergonomic keyboard is coming out this year

vendredi 3 janvier 2025, 17:14 , par PC World
Accessories company Incase has unveiled a new compact ergonomic keyboard called — wait for it — the Compact Ergonomic Keyboard.

At first glance, it doesn’t look too different from most ergonomic keyboards. But this one’s notable for being “designed by Microsoft,” bringing with it a split ergonomic design, contoured layout, and built-in cushioned palm rest for a premium typing experience.

It also stands out for its wireless tech, which is a valid selling point for anyone who wants to optimize every inch of ergonomics in their workstation setup. Supporting up to three devices via Bluetooth 5.1, the Incase Compact Ergonomic Keyboard is purported to last up to 36 months on two AAA batteries (included).

Other niceties include a dedicated Copilot button for activating Microsoft’s AI-powered assistant on compatible machines, plus convenient shortcuts for inserting emojis, making calls, and muting. It also has a slim profile and compact layout, with full-sized scissor keys with a minimal 1.3mm of travel for ease of typing.

The Incase Compact Ergonomic Keyboard will be priced at $119.99 when it launches in “early 2025.” At this price, it’s an okay alternative for a wireless compact ergonomic keyboard with a premium feel without edging into the $300+ range of luxury options.

Incase is the company that swooped in and took over Microsoft’s line of accessories when the company abandoned its non-Surface mice, keyboards, and other peripherals. Incase now keeps those accessories going, using the same components Microsoft used before discontinuing.
