THURSDAY TRACK PICK - The Revivalists' "All My Friends"
jeudi 18 octobre 2018, 06:00 , par Keyboard Magazine
We're choosing 'All My Friends,' the new track from breakout Americana rockers The Revivalists as our THURSDAY TRACK PICK this week.“‘All My Friends’ is a song about the time in our lives where we're down and out, and our friends pick us back up,' keyboardist/trumpet player Michael Girardot tells us. 'I think most of us go through a stage where our friends become our family and support. In our early years as a band, we often wouldn't have made it to the next gig without the help of friends we made around the country. It’s why through 10 years as a band, we try first and foremost to be good friends who take care of each other.' 'We tracked the song in New Orleans with Dave Bassett, a great producer and the co-writer on the song,' Girardot continues. 'The track had started with just software pianos, but when we got to the studio we threw the whole kitchen sink at it. I added an old beat-up upright, Yamaha and Sequential analog synths, Hammond, Mellotron, and some other goodies. It’s a lot to play live while also singing backing vocals, but I'm able to play most of the layers using Nord keyboards, a Leslie, and a Native Instruments keyboard running Apple MainStage. I hope you enjoy the song, and keep taking good care of all your friends!'The Revivalists' new album Take Good Care is out Nov 9. Find out more at www.therevivalists.com
