Aly James Lab drums up VSDS-X 2.0 Simmons synth

lundi 22 avril 2019, 22:27 , par MacOSX Audio
Aly James Lab has released VSDS-X 2.0, a software emulation of the Simmons SDSV Drum Brain now available as a 64-bit macOS plugin. The Simmons hexagonal drum pads were a standard fixture of 80s drum sets, and the Simmons sound is all over 80s music. VSDS-X 2.0 (Virtual Simmons Drum System eXtended), aims to provide the closest experience to the real thing. For each voice module, it accurately models the analog character of the sound generation, internal circuitry tuning, trigger sensitivity, and all the details you can find inside the dedicated manual. For its hybrid voices (HIHAT, CYMBAL, PROM & CLAP are analog but also EPROM based), the plugin emulates the clocks and counters that read EPROM memory inside a variable sample rate system. It also models the SSM2044 filters with fine tuning control over lots of internal circuitry resistors. CV, trigger shapes, and VCA response can also be tuned to produce a wide range of sounds and punch/response. This also emulates how the module will react if triggered with pads or sequencer.

Aly James Lab VSDS-X 2.0 is available now for €45 (currently around $52). It requires macOS 10.6 or later and an AU or VST plugin host. As a free bonus with your VSDSX 2.0 package, Aly James Lab is including a perfectly recreated ClapTrap plugin with additional stereo capability.
