Discrete, Class-A, High-Voltage, Modular, Analogue consoles

Building on our experience of providing high-quality analogue consoles, Interphase Audio proudly announces the Ark 1648 and Ark 4048 Recording and Mixing consoles.

Based on the Ark 8, discrete, Class-A, modular, configurable console, these brand-new consoles pack most of the goodies of the Ark 8 in a standard, affordable package.

While the Ark 8 remains the top-of-the-line, with an incredible amount of options and configuration possibilities, the Ark 1648 and Ark 4048 are configured as standard consoles, with every option pre-installed.

The Ark 1648 is an inline console, with Mic Pre, EQs and filters per input channel.

The Ark 4048 is an inline console, with Mic Pre and slots for 500-series modules per input channel.

Both consoles feature the same master section, with 2 Stereo Mix buses, 8 Stereo Returns and full CRM section with 2 Cue outputs, 4 stereo speakers sets and 4 stereo external inputs.

Ark 1648
- 16 inline channels with Mic / Line / DAW inputs

- Each channel equipped with Mic Pre, multi-EQ and Filters

- Dual audio path architecture 

- Two complete audio paths per channel with independent routing and inserts
- 4 band Inductive EQ per channel (usable on either audio path)
- Hi-Cut and Lo-Cut filter per channel (usable on either audio path)

- Swing EQ per channel (usable on either audio path)

- 8 Group buses 

- 16 Auxiliary buses

- 2 inserts per channel

- 2 Stereo Mix buses

- 8 Stereo Returns
- 48 inputs to the mix bus
- 8 slots for 500-series on the master section
- Full CRM section with 4 stereo speaker sets and 4 stereo external inputs
- External inputs to Master buses, group buses and aux buses (for sidecar, etc)
- Classic Analogue Metering with global meter switching

Ark 4048

- 16 Auxiliary buses

- 8 slots for 500-series on the master section
- Full CRM section with 4 stereo speaker sets and 4 stereo external inputs

- External inputs to Master buses, group buses and aux buses (for sidecar, etc)

All versions of the Ark console can be ordered directly from Interphase Audio now, and will be made available - through a limited amount of proaudio retailers - shortly.

The Ark 1648 and Ark 4048 are standard configurations.

The Ark 8 can be any console size from 8 to 64 inline or stereo channels, and allows for integrated patchbays and producer desks.

While the Ark 8 can be configured as Ark 1648 or 4048, it also allows to mix-and-match channel buckets with 500-series slots and channel buckets with integrated EQ, and offers more options and configurations.

Why offer the Ark 1648 and Ark 4048?

Offering the fully configurable Ark 8 is great, but it does not make it easy on our customers.

By offering standard consoles like the Ark 1648 and 4048, we try to make it easier for our customers and ourselves, and by standardising on production, we can bring the price down, making the Ark even more affordable.

Is the Ark 8 still available?

Of course. Every Ark 8 is build-to-order, and every Ark 8 is absolutely unique.

About Interphase Audio

Formerly known as Ocean Audio, the brand name was changed after Malcolm Toft's retirement from console design, to avoid all confusion between Toft designed products, and our new products. The Ark 8 was the first in a range of products designed by a team of audio professionals from the EU and the UK.
The EQ8 was our second product, based on the development we did for the Ark console, now followed by the Ark 1648 and Ark 4048. More product announcements will follow in the weeks to come.
