Tantalizing Taylors: The Guitar Designs of Andy Powers

On May 12, Sweewater’s Mitch Gallagher will be interviewing
Taylor Guitars’ Andy Powers for a livestream that will not disappoint. Powers
came to Taylor in 2011 after landing on founder Bob Taylor’s radar when Powers
was only 15. Taylor recognized Powers’s natural talent for design and his
passion for music and felt strongly he would find a place at the company that
would allow him to grow his prodigious talent. A decade later, and Andy Powers
has established himself as one of the world’s most renowned guitar designers.

In the relatively short 10 years Powers has been at Taylor, he has introduced numerous designs for new series of guitars as well as initiated modifications like introducing the V-Class bracing design to already popular lines like the flagship 800 Series.

Mitch and Andy will talk all things Taylor during the livestream but will focus on newer model lines like the American Dream Series that was spawned during the very challenging COVID-19 crisis of last year. They will also detail the Presentation Series and Grand Theater line of Taylors, all of which we carry here at Sweetwater.
