AEA R44cx vs A440 for solo strings

Hey guys!
I'm recording a lot of solo strings (mostly violin and cello) at my home studio, a room with a low ceiling, and I've been using AEA A840 for that so far for its warmth and smoothness of high frequencies that remove harshness. Planning to upgrade my mic to AEA R44CX or A440. I know that R44CX was specifically manufactured for scoring (used in Lord of the Rings soundtrack) but I've also heard that A440 is the "best" mic for acoustic instruments and has an extremely low noise floor. I'm looking into the same qualities of 840 but better - warmth, high frequencies harshness removal, wide dynamic range, LOW NOISE. I can also save some money if I buy R44CX, obviously. Any experience with both for solo strings?
