Despite a premature birth that had him weighing less than two pounds as a newborn child, Avery Dixon has beaten the odds and then some, channeling his strife into an unbridled passion for music, culminating in a stunning run of America’s Got Talent appearances and performances. Considering the fact that his great-grandfather and biggest inspiration is Maxwell Davis, “the Father of West Coast R&B,” it comes as no surprise that the same talent and innovative spirit flows through Avery, earning him a Gospel Choice Award for Best Gospel Instrumentalist.
