Introducing the all-new CVPA PlateMic-S: A compact analog stereo plate reverb with a highly requested new feature: the all-new internal Stereo Driver system (SDS) for driving the plate like a traditional plate reverb! Available for pre-order now!
Pre-order link: https://reverb.com/item/85021494 Contact me on Reverb and mention GearSpace for $50USD off! Experience the incredibly lush and dynamic sound of real analog plate reverb in ways not possible with traditional plates: the PlateMic-S features the unique purpose-built ability to sing/play directly to the plate for the most dream-like reverb sound you've ever heard -AND- the new internal Stereo Driver System gives you the ability to drive the plate from any headphone output for the best of both worlds! The PlateMic-S can add extra stereo dimension, depth, dynamics, and plate resonance to your mix that VST's and digital units fail to deliver; features a huge range of reverb decay time adjustment; from a mere 0.7 seconds of "small room" reverb up to a massively long 4.5 seconds (Brass plate only) that could easily be used as a creative analog substitute for digital delay! The ability to push the unit hard into plate distortion is another thing that VST's and digital units can't touch - the new internal Stereo Driver System has built-in diode limiters that you can use to safely over-drive the unit into wild plate distortion if you want! The PlateMic could be the centerpiece of your studio and a big draw for customers; its impressively beautiful sound will make you excited to mix and experiment with new ways to maximize its incredible potential! Pre-order now with a low introductory price! NEW 60s/Nashville-inspired lap steel/guitar/vocal demo for PlateMic-S: Please PM me for a Google Drive link to uncompressed 24-bit 48khz samples - they sound ALOT better than grainy-sounding YouTube compression! The PlateMic-S is incredibly versatile and can be used in a wide variety of ways: -As a wet/dry direct reverb using the speaker pole mount with a "dry" microphone in front. -As a full-wet direct reverb microphone using the speaker pole mount (great for dreamy background vocals). -As a room microphone sitting on the floor (great for drums). -As a traditional post-production reverb using the new internal Stereo Driver System (SDS). -As a traditional post-production reverb placed in front of your studio monitors as the drivers. -As a traditional post-production reverb placed in an isolated vocal booth fed with small studio monitors. -As a "quick and dirty" reverb using headphones placed on the unit acting as drivers (this sounds surprisingly good!). CVPA PlateMic-S features, details, and specs: -New internal Stereo Driver System (SDS) allows you to drive the plate using any DAW interface/console/mixer/discrete headphone output! Optionally pair this with an affordable (or high-end) studio headphone amp (not included) and you'll have balanced line-in capability! 1/4" TRS stereo input jack on front panel w/2 x "CLIP" LEDs to monitor if the built-in driver protection diode limiter is active. The SDS was built for easy servicing by a qualified tech; the drivers and all internal components are replaceable. -Re-designed to withstand the roughest shipping with zero damage to the plate - the demo in this listing was from my test unit AFTER it was vibration/drop-tested in extreme tests meant to simulate intentional dropping, throwing, and even walking on the package - the result was zero damage and the exact same sound quality and test measurements as an untouched unit; rest assured your plate will not be damaged easily! -Low-noise super high impedance discrete class-A JFET/BJT preamps and transformer balanced output; typical noise floor in a quiet environment is around -80dbfs peak/-100dbfs rms A-weight with my CVP-500 vintage germanium preamps! -Powered via-phantom power for ultimate portability and ease of use. -4-position stepped HPF on the front panel for low-freq. control (60/120/240/480hz) -Expanded L/R gain trim on front panel using 20-turn precision trimpots - allows you to dial in the perfect output level and stereo balance for your preamps (i.e. low output for a clean sound or high output to drive your preamp's input transformers or tubes, etc). -All-new rotary decay time adjustment allows for faster workflow and more precision dialing in short decay times. Solid aluminum knob and smooth silicone damped operation. -Fast and easy damper lockdown for effortless moving/shipping; simply turn the damper/decay time knob to about midway (3s) and you are ready to go! -2 x All-new rotary front panel sound ports allow you to adjust the volume of external sounds to the plate and acts as a low pass/high-cut filter. Solid aluminum knobs and smooth silicone damped operation. -Front panel ground lift DIP switches for pesky ground hum situations. -Incredibly tough all-aluminum extrusion-based construction with tough powder coat finish and precision engraved lettering. -Small and lightweight enclosure can be easily moved and used where larger reverbs fear to tread! ENGLISH OVERALL DIM/WEIGHT: 28.8in W x 18.5in H x 8.3in D 26lbs METRIC OVERALL DIM/WEIGHT: 73cm W x 47cm H x 21cm D 11.8kg Advanced Damper System features: -Non-resonant damper strips (facing the plate) clear up mid-range muddiness for more clarity. -Provides frequency-balanced decay time across the entire damper operation range. -Sounds rich and full; even at low decay times! -Thick and tough all-aluminum frame; re-designed to withstand the roughest shipping! -Incredibly smooth silicone-damped operation using precision CNC leadscrew. A wide selection of plate material available to include: Brass (free) - 0.7s - 4.5s @ 500hz - Longest high freq. decay time - Medium resonance Nickel (+$800USD) - 0.7s - 4s @ 500hz - Medium high freq. decay time - Medium-low resonance Cold Rolled Steel (free) - 0.7s - 4s @ 500hz - Medium high freq. decay time - High resonance Options: -Nickel plate (+$800USD) - 0.7s - 4s @ 500hz - Medium high freq. decay time - Medium-low resonance Multiple transformer output options! -Edcor (USA) - free/standard (Steel laminations; unshielded; featured in audio demo) -Neutrik (LI) - optional +$112USD (includes mu-metal shield) -Jensen (USA) - optional +$100USD (50% Ni laminations; includes mu-metal shield) -OEP (UK/China) - optional free (+$30 mu-metal shield optional) -Optional 35mm/1-3/8" speaker stand adapter for vocal usage (+$40USD). -Special request (only if multiple customers ask): +$1000USD - Advanced Stepper Remote System from the CVPlate series of CVPA plates. Uses Japanese-made Sanyo/SANMOTION stepper motor and near-silent German Trinamic TMC2209 stepper driver for super-quiet and reliable remote control of damper/decay time. Includes 1RU rackmount remote control. Open-source stepper control software (C++ language) available to customers for modification (literally every line of code has a detailed comment) or to add your own self-developed experimental features like MIDI or CV control: if you know C++, the possibilities are endless!
