The return of an icon - the new Revox B77 MK III tape recorder NEW! Revox B77 MK III - a new highlight in analog audio technology The Revox B77 is a true icon in the audio world. Famous and awarded for its outstanding sound reproduction and high-quality, sustainable construction, it sets the standard for analog audiophile excellence. As a Revox product, it reproduces music exactly as the artists recorded it in the studio. With the new B77 MK III Stereo Tape Recorder, the Revox development team has now redesigned this special product and improved it with significant new features. The entire electronics have been optimized with the components and simulation options available today. Proven components are still used, such as improved original Revox pickups with a considerably longer service life and the unique Revox motors. The result is this outstanding new version: the B77 MK III. All the new details, such as the audio technology for even better sound reproduction and recording quality, the precisely manufactured, high-quality Revox pickups, a digital counter, the ability to play all common tape standards, a wide range of connection and optional expansion options have been perfected by our developers, technicians and designers. The B77 MK III is manufactured in the Revox factory in Villingen. The result is an extraordinary sound experience and an immediately recognizable yet visually new highlight. Built for eternity Like its predecessors, the new B77 MK III is manufactured to the highest quality standards as an audiophile masterpiece and visual work of art and stands for demonstrable sustainability like no other audio product. The high level of production and quality control required for the B77 MK III means that no more than 20 machines can be produced per month. Created for the extraordinary With the B77 MK III, the Revox development team has once again decisively extended the limits of what is possible in analog audio technology. Therefore, this new Revox B77 is something unique and created for those who are looking for the best and therefore rely on the incomparable sound and manufacturing quality of Revox! The unique music experience is raised to a whole new level by the perfectly matched B77 MK III and the Revox Analog Master Tapes. A must for every music lover who wants to experience the best possible music quality at home. Original Revox Motors The B77 MK III is equipped with a three-motor drive with direct drive and servo control. Two winding motors bring the tape reels up to operating speed in the shortest possible time or slow them down quickly, precisely and smoothly. The winding motors are particularly strong and robust. Thanks to the increased starting voltage, they bring even heavy metal reels up to operating speed in a matter of seconds. Thanks to the sophisticated technology of the regulated capstan sound motor, even barely perceptible fluctuations in speed are compensated for. The sound shaft of the direct-drive Capstan sound motor is a true masterpiece of precision engineering. Its tolerance is a concentricity of one thousandth of a millimeter. Revox relies on a motor design that has been tried and tested for decades. To this end, the Capstan shafts are produced close to the sound factory in Villingen. Improved original Revox Pickups Revox has decades of experience in the manufacture of tape cartridges and has optimized this knowledge for the various tape machines. The professional design of all our cartridges is developed in-house and manufactured to the highest quality using our own processes. Revox tape machines have a total of three sound heads. One playback head, one recording head and one playback head. Among other things, this design enables rear band control. The precision of the pickups is decisive for the recording and playback quality. The special alloy of the tone heads guarantees the best magnetic properties and a long service life. The shape of the sound head mirrors is designed for smooth frequency response down to the lowest frequency. Long pole pieces guarantee a straight frequency response. The core carrier of the heads is milled from solid material with the highest precision to achieve optimum uniformity of the respective track positions. The gap of the playback sound head measures just 2 µm (0.002 mm). The core packages are made of high-quality magnetic material with above-average permeability and minimal losses. This achieves optimum sound voltages and very low distortion. The new Revox B77 MK III uses improved original cartridges with a considerably longer service life. Everything to ensure maximum longevity and sound quality. Individual setting options Many different 1/4“ 2-track tapes can be played and recorded.: 19 cm/sec. recording and playback with 257 nWb/m and NAB 38 cm/sec. recording and playback with 510 or 320 nWb/m and NAB or CCIR Switches available for each of these functions. Connections The connection concept is suitable for both recording studio connections and private home systems.: XLR IN/OUT Cinch / Cinch via enclosed adapter DIP switch for studio and home systems Special feature XLR connector: Known from studio and audio technology, XLR (External Live Return) connectors are characterized by their robustness, reliability and interference-free signal transmission. The balanced XLR connection ensures the best sound and high-quality transmission - in professional recording studios as well as in private audio systems. Signals can be transmitted via XLR inputs/outputs without loss of quality or noise. With the built-in XLR inputs/outputs, the new Revox B77 MK III is therefore ideally equipped for perfect recording and playback - for private or professional use. Headphone connection: The headphone amplifier is of the highest quality and suitable for both low and high headphone impedances. Digital Counter and VU Meter Digital Counter: Mode 1: Counter Mode 2: Time The displayed time is calculated from the current meter reading. In addition, the meter speed and the meter reading are used to determine the set belt speed of 19 cm/s or 38 cm/s and the meter reading is converted into a belt running time corresponding to the belt speed. VU meter: The highest precision is required for the level meters, which is why the Revox VU meters (volume units) are precisely calibrated and have long scales. An LED immediately indicates the risk of overdriving. With this ideal combination of displays, recordings of the highest dynamic range can be made effortlessly. Another advantage is that the display also works during playback. Optional expansion options Multiuser Adapter Global Cache available for the integration of the B77 MK III and the control in a Revox Multiuser Audio solution. Available from the end of December 2024 | Delivery in the order in which orders are received. The device has a 2-year warranty.
