Retrologue 2 - Slave-master relationship
Can somebody help me? There has been a discussion in other forums on a master and so-called hidden oscillator in various virtual oscillators. My question relates to Retrologue 2. Its manual (especially its manual for Retrolgue (previous version) operates the term master/slave but it is not clear for non-professionals and novices like me. As far as I understand, there is NO master or hidden oscillators (especially for hard sync and multi-type) and there are just algorithms. For instance, I cannot take - like in virtual modular synthesisers) and connect patches of the visible oscillators. The availability of up to 8 oscillators for the multi-type proves that three visible (primary) oscillators are not for various modulations where algorithms apply. Another evidence is that in a manual for Retrologue 1 one could find an explanation that while making hard sync the master was not needed and it was the single oscillator which could do it itself. It is a good reference that we are talking more about algorithms and patchable appls.
