Is ChatGPT Useless For Guiding Acoustics? (Insulation and Bass Traps)
I followed advice from forum users, both Gearspace and Reddit, and have come to the conclusion that low density fiberglass material would be more effective than mineral wool (rockwool) for building bass traps as it's more permeable, and acoustic modelling show's more effectivity of low frequency absorption on traps above 8''.
ChatGPT is suggesting that between 40 - 100kg/m would be most optimal for soffit traps of this size, but if that were the case, wouldn't the GFR be a lot higher than I was advised to source (3000-5000 rayl/m)?
I already have the insulation, it's light fiberglass with a density of 9.40kg/m3. Should I sell it and get rockwool?
Trap size: 8' x 2' x 2' + 8' x 1.1' x 1.1'
