Get Rid Of My Benchmark ADC1 and DAC1'?
I'm having to replace my Presonus Quantum 26x32 interface, and am seriously considering the RME Fireface 802fs. I also use analog summing (16 channels) 8 out of Quantum, and another 8 channels coming from a Presonus DP88. so am also considering the Ferrofish Pulse 16 ad/da to handle the 16 channels of conversion.
Currently I'm printing the summed mix back into cubase via the *original* Benchmark ADC-1. I use the Benchmark DAC-1 for headphone monitoring only. If upgrading to the RME interface, I could technically just bring the summed mix back into a stereo pair of line inputs on the RME, and just monitor headphones via the RME headphone amps, sell both Benchmark units and free up some cash.
I really have enjoyed the Benchmark units for around 15 years. BUT, since the RME interface(s) are known for there stellar conversion, do you guys think I would even notice a difference in sound if printing the mix back through the RME as opposed to the the Benchmark ADC-1? The same goes for the RME headphone amps, better or worse than the older Benchmark DAC-1?, and the conversion of the Pulse 16 would give me vs the Presonus conversion for summing?
