Wire Grind releases BlizzVerb, a VST Reverb Plug-in

Wire Grind has announced the release of BlizzVerb, a new reverberation plugin.

It uses multiple physics-based strategies to produce realistic sounding reverberation. A summary of these features is given below.

Physically-Informed Wetness Control

BlizzVerb adjusts wetness by altering the underlying acoustics model. The approach significantly improves realism over the commonly used wet/dry cross-faders.

Frequency-Dependent Decay

In measured room impulse responses, decay time depends on frequency. BlizzVerb models this data and fits it across a broad frequency range. In contrast, simple damping filters attenuate somewhat blindly, and they don't take measured room impulse responses into account.

Stereo Soundfield Modeling Headphones and Speakers

BlizzVerb enhances stereo with two independent rendering models. One model is adapted for headphones, while the other is adapted for speakers. Both models run concurrently, and can have fully adjustable depth.

1,000 Rooms

Set the "room number" parameter to choose a unique set of early echos. This option gives users the ability to fine-tune reverb characteristics such as temporal texture, stereo field, and coloration. Results may seem subtle, however it's often possible to make real improvements.

Early Echo Build-Up

The build-up of the early echos is based on geometrical acoustics theory. This results in reverberation that's realistic while not needing pre-delay adjustment.

Freeze Functionality

Nearly every blizzard has a freeze, and BlizzVerb is no exception! Freeze creates sustained reverberation. It can be used for the creation of pad sounds as well as for automated creative effects.

Additional Features:Room size adjustment
Undo / redo
A / B settings toggle
