Will there be a follow up to the MC707?

After years of chopping & changing in the area of hardware sequencers, I finally found the MC707 to be the one I felt fitted my requirements best. Its a fantastic machine. However, it still has its limitations.
Like the MX-1 mixer (also a unit that could use an evolutionary update), I feel it could be better with more channels. At least midi tracks, as I sequence other synths and split it 4/4 with 4 tracks for its internal sounds, and 4 for external midi control (that can obviously be layered with the internal 707 sounds).
Seeing as it seems acceptable for manufactures to release 'MK2' versions these days with just a few conservative updates. perhaps that might happen.
Its 5 years old now, so will we see some kind of update/replacement, or will Roland now abandon/distance itself from that sort of product in favour of software?
I'm one of those people who prefer hardware sequencers, or at least having an option where I don't need to boot up my DAW and stare at a screen.
