Microphone for live session

Which microphone type would you recommend...
A friend runs "sound healing" sessions in which she plays different acoustic instruments with narration, for a group of 35 people in a closed room. She needs a microphone for live amplification, ie connected to mixer+Amp+speakers.
She's thinking of positioning a microphone on a small tripod just next to the instrument for it to collect all instruments as well as her voice. Quite a few instruments so the angle should be wide.
She prefers her won voice+instruments to be amplified, not the background noise of the crowd, which is a restriction on the angle.
Its not a fixed setup, so needs to be portable.
Price ~200-300 USD but could be less.
What microphone do you think is good for her? Condenser? Dynamic?
Sure SM58/57 or Rode NT5 type?
Whats a good direction for this task?
