NAMM 2025: AudioScape’s EQP-2A Redefines Classic Tube EQ
Daytona Beach, FLORIDA - AudioScape is proud to bring you a modern upgrade of one of the world’s most classic EQs, introducing the EQP-2A, the stereo solution for lighting up your mixes or stereo tracks with the electrifying tone of the EQP tube equalizer. Our family of EQPs, which includes our faithfully re-created EQP-A, and the EQP-A Mastering Edition, now adds the EQP-2A Stereo Tube EQ.

Pulse Techniques released the EQP-1 in the mid-1950s, with some financial backing from MGM. It was originally intended as a mono “program equalizer”, since stereo playback in recording, broadcast, etc. hadn’t yet become the predominant format. Technology moved forward, but the EQP and its variants were so beloved that it remained a single channel processor until phased out in 1981. In practical use, the EQP served beautifully inserted over individual sources, imparting it’s unique tube-tone even when no EQ was applied, but two of them strapped across the stereo bus, or as part of the mastering chain, offered a radiant tone that made the EQP equally as desirable in those applications.

Now, in its original battle-ship grey glory, AudioScape has created the stereo EQP-2A. Absolutely faithful to the original in its component compliment…x2! All that incredible mojo and box-tone intrinsic to the EQP family in a format that makes it a breeze to process both channels with one set of controls, ensuring true stereo operation.

The EQP-2A includes: a full complement of NOS tubes, including the oft-excluded NOS 6x4 rectifier tubes (an important aspect of the original’s sound), custom-wound inductors, and high-end custom iron that matches the specifications and performance of the originals, including the critical interstage transformer omitted from most EQP clones despite its crucial contributions to both performance and the original’s box tone. By necessity, we've actually corrected the circuit to more accurately reflect the behavior and sound of the vintage units, after finding the original schematics contained errors that drastically affected performance at certain filter settings. The difference is remarkable, and it reinforces our belief that no amount of research, development, listening tests, or time is too much to invest in a product of this pedigree.

If you love the EQP-A, but always wished there was a stereo solution, AudioScape’s EQP-2A is your wish come true.

The EQP-2A Stereo Tube EQ, essentially two EQP-As, is just $2299.00
