MarsPlexi (Full/Trial)

MarsPlexi recreates the power and tone of the legendary Plexi 100 Watt, the amp behind iconic albums that defined rock history. Experience the unmistakable tones of Hendrix’s Are You Experienced, Led Zeppelin’s Led Zeppelin II, AC/DC’s High Voltage, and Van Halen’s Van Halen I.

With authentic British grit and dynamic gain response, MarsPlexi takes you from sparkling cleans to searing distortion, capturing the tones that shaped generations.

Key features include:

Channel Blending: Unlock the rich, complex textures heard on countless classic albums.
Responsive EQ and Presence: Dial in the classic rock tones or push it further for smooth leads and heavy rhythms.
Cabinet Emulation: Faithfully models the roar of 4×12” cabinets.

MarsPlexi isn’t just an amp sim; it’s a piece of rock history ready to bring legendary tones to your fingertips.

But that is only the beginning. MarsPlexi comes with 3 legenday Mods. The Mod 34, Mod 36, and Mod 39+ are tailored to recreate specific modifications to the classic Plexi sound, giving you access to different eras of rock tones with unique gain structures and tonal characteristics. Here’s a breakdown of each.

Mod 34 is crafted to evoke the heightened mids and tighter low-end of modified Plexis popular in the ’80s, giving players that extra push in gain and clarity associated with iconic rock and hair metal tones of the time. The result is an amp sim that shines with punchy, cutting leads and high-energy rhythms, perfect for fans of classic ‘80s rock and metal.

Mod 36, on the other hand, offers an even more aggressive approach. Often considered the “hot-rodded Plexi,” this mod takes the natural Plexi growl and adds a layer of harmonics and saturation, delivering a rich sustain that’s ideal for powerful rhythm work or smooth, high-energy solos. It channels the sound of bands who pushed Plexi mods to new heights during the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.

Mod 39+ rounds out the trio with a full-throttle approach, adding high gain and enhanced bass and treble. It morphs the Plexi into a modern high-gain amp, with a thicker, more saturated distortion perfect for heavier, more aggressive styles. This mod is ideal for modern rock and metal tones that require boldness and definition, while still preserving the Plexi’s iconic character.

Each of these mods brings something special, letting you explore everything from vintage rock tones to cutting-edge metal within the classic Plexi framework.

Mod 34, 36 and 39+ come with 3 exclusive circuit presets called Classic, Modern and Extreme. These recallable presets are meant to to accentuate 3 distinctive vibes and bring your tweaking game to the next level.

Non-Plus-Ultra Preamp
Non-Plus-Ultra Preamp represents the perfect approach to circuit modeling. MarsPlexi preamp features a built-from-scratch 64-bit engine which is based on general purpose hi-quality algorithms and the most recent non-linear models. Particular attention has been put on the definition of the Non-Linear Solver to get the maximum quality and realism, without losing details in favor of performances (Double-Precision Non-Linear Computing).

Our non-plus-ultra reproductions bring a completely new philosophy to the table: being able to shape your tone by giving total access to the circuit components. Managing each gain stage level, shaping the tone-stacks or modifying the tubes characteristics: there is virtually no limit to what you can achieve with our plugins!

Pwr/Cabs: Non-Linear Convolution
As DiBiQuadro we implemented our own version of Non-Linear Convolution (NLC) to reproduce all the final stages of a miked amplifier. We use to call Pwr/Cab a chain made of:a tube power amp
a cabinet/speaker
a microphone
and a high-end studio preamp

This chain is sampled as a unique block to preserve the correct interaction between the specific power amp and the speakers. Our 64-bit (double precision) NLC engine allows up to 40 kernels (harmonics). In addition, a complete set of parameters allows the full control over the power amp headroom, the type of clipping and the interaction of the negative feedback with the Presence knobs.

The proprietary solutions just described are grouped under a common acronym: DNC+ (Double-Precision Non-Linear Computing and Convolution).

MarsPlexi is delivered with 34 Pwr/Cabs. Three cabinets are available: a slanted 60A loaded with T75 and V30 speakers, a straight 60B loaded with M25s and H30s, and a slanted 60AV loaded with MarsVintage speakers.

Shaper
The input signal can be processed by activating a shaper before the preamp. This block allows to select one of the following:Low Cut
Mid Boost
Graphic Equalizer
Parametric Equalizer
Compressor

Wah
All DiBiQuadro amp simulations come with a beautifully sounding Wah which is fully tweakable at component level. The Frequency parameter can be controlled via automation in your DAW.

Automations
Every knob, button and state of the Preamp and PwrCab sections can be automated in your DAW. This provides a new level of integration of DiBiQuadro plugins with the time-based events of your project.

The Renderer
The Renderer is a stand-alone application to process an input wave file in OffLine mode. It can be invoked via command line too. Its purpose is to render long and processing demanding configurations (e.g. high upsampling).

How to install (TRIAL or FULL)
