Introducing MidiMacro: Visual MIDI Routing & Macro/Hotkey Tool (Free Beta - Free Forever for Early A
Hey Gearspace folks,

We wanted to let you know about a new desktop application we've developed called MidiMacro. We built it to tackle some common MIDI routing headaches and workflow bottlenecks, and we think it might be useful for many of you here.

Website: https://midimacro.com

What it is:

MidiMacro combines two main things:

Visual MIDI Routing: It uses a node-based graphical interface (think flowcharts) to connect, filter, and route MIDI between your hardware synths, controllers, interfaces, DAWs, and other software. If you're dealing with multiple MIDI streams, this aims to make managing the signal flow much clearer and more intuitive. (The website shows screenshots of this node interface).

MIDI Macro & Hotkey System: This is where it gets interesting for workflow automation. You can map incoming MIDI events (Notes, CCs, Program Changes, etc.) to trigger:

Keyboard Shortcuts (Hotkeys): Control your DAW, plugins, OBS/streaming software, or pretty much any application using your MIDI controller.

Conditional Logic: Set up rules for your triggers (e.g., only trigger if MIDI comes in on Channel 5, or only when a specific CC value range is met). (Website shows examples of setting up these mappings).

The Goal:

Our aim is to create a central hub for managing complex MIDI setups and automating repetitive tasks, whether you're in the studio, performing live, or streaming.

Future Plans:

We're planning to add features like custom JavaScript scripting for really deep MIDI processing and complex logic, and eventually an API for community plugins.

Current Status: FREE Beta + "Free Forever" Offer

MidiMacro is currently in Beta for Windows and macOS (Linux support planned).

During this beta phase, it's completely FREE to download and use.

Important: If you download and activate MidiMacro via our Gumroad page during this free beta period, you'll get a license that remains FREE FOREVER, even after we introduce paid versions later. This is our thank you to early adopters.

Get the Free Beta / Free Forever License:

Go to our Gumroad page: https://kouts.gumroad.com/l/midimacro

Enter $0 in the price field during checkout to get it for free.

We Need Your Feedback!

Since this is Gearspace, we know many of you push MIDI to its limits. We'd genuinely appreciate it if you could give MidiMacro a try and let us know:

Does it actually help manage your MIDI routing complexity?

Are the macro/hotkey features useful for your specific workflow (DAW control, hardware management, live performance)?

What essential features are missing? What would you like to see added?

Any bugs or weird behaviour? (It's a beta, after all!)

You can find more info on the main site (https://midimacro.com) and use the contact form there (https://midimacro.com/#contact) for feedback, bug reports, or suggestions.

Thanks for taking a look. We hope it proves useful!

Cheers,

The MidiMacro Team (Disclaimer: Yes, we are the developers)
