Sonic Academy announces Vela - New reverb with open Beta available
samedi 12 avril 2025, 11:46 , par KVR Audio
Sonic Academy has announced Vela, a new reverb plugin based on a new reverb technology that, according to Sonic Academy, is designed for versatility, capable of creating everything from ultra-realistic spaces to expansive soundscapes. The plugin features a fully customizable early reflection system combined with a node-based late reflection engine. This is intended to give users control over aspects like density, decay, and damping filter characteristics over time, aiming for a smooth reverb tail. Sonic Academy also states that Vela can emulate the sounds of well-regarded classic and modern hardware reverbs, such as algorithms from Lexicon, Bricasti, and TC Electronic, without relying on captured impulse responses. The engine allows users to take these emulations as a starting point and modify them further. Key Features: New reverb generation technology. Fully customizable early reflection system. Node-based late reflection engine. Control over density, decay, and damping filter over time. Emulation of classic/modern hardware reverb algorithms without IRs. Designed for versatility (realistic spaces to large soundscapes). Open Beta Participation An open Beta has been announced allowing anyone to sign up and test out Vela prior to release.
