Designed for both studio and desktop use, the AEA 1029 features a proprietary discrete op-amp design delivering ultra-clean sound suitable for a variety of applications.

Smooth Compression, Perfect Clarity

The AEA 1029 offers pristine, flexible compression. From subtle smoothing to limiting, this versatile compressor ensures your sound remains clear and balanced. As with all AEA electronics, the circuit was designed by Fred Forssell. The 1029 utilizes a unique discrete op-amp design paired with two THAT 4305 VCA chips operating from a single RMS detector. This combination allows for smooth and transparent compression, ideal for taming vocals, tightening drums, or enhancing any audio element requiring precision. Designed to complement AEA's TRP and RPQ preamps, the 1029 is perfect for recording and mixing stereo microphones, delivering high-quality results every time.

Its desktop-friendly form factor is ideal for smaller spaces, while its comprehensive feature set ensures no compromise on power or flexibility. The 1029 offers three-position Sensing Time settings (Peak Fast, Slow, and RMS) and a variable ratio ranging from 1:1 to Limit, providing the flexibility to transition from subtle control to aggressive compression effortlessly. Additionally, the dry/wet percentage control allows users to shape their sound precisely.
