Final introduces the DX6000 open-back headphones
Final introduces the DX6000: A new era of open-back listening with magnesium driver innovation.

Final is proud to announce the DX6000, the first model in their all-new DX Series of headphones. Crafted entirely from the ground up, the DX6000 represents a new sonic philosophy for Final, leveraging proprietary driver technology to deliver a speaker-like listening experience that is both highly transparent and emotionally expressive.

Final sets a new standard in dynamic headphones

The DX6000 introduces a newly developed large-diameter dynamic driver, featuring an ultra-lightweight magnesium dome diaphragm.

Magnesium, chosen for its rigidity and neutral acoustic properties, allows the DX6000 to achieve remarkably low distortion and a fast transient response. Despite the material’s challenges in processing, Final has utilised an advanced oxidation treatment and edge folding to perfectly balance durability and sonic performance.

The diaphragm is housed within a monolithic injection-moulded structure using a proprietary adhesive-free silicone foam surround. This unique construction removes unnecessary weight and delivers perfect piston motion, resulting in a dynamic soundstage with natural spatial separation, rich lows, and effortless detail.

Air-wired architecture and internal network tuning

To complement the diaphragm design, Final engineers have developed a free-air wired aluminium coil, made with trace element doping for enhanced conductivity. By eliminating traditional bonding points and soldering connections, signal purity is maintained and reverse resonance is dramatically reduced.

The DX6000’s internal acoustic network has been tuned for accurate high-frequency response without harshness. This crossover-less design enables pure and uninterrupted performance, mimicking the linearity of a well-designed loudspeaker. Thanks to the innovative dynamic driver design, featuring an exceptionally low resonant frequency (f₀), the driver itself naturally produces deep and powerful bass without relying on a sealed enclosure. As a result, the DX6000 features a fully open housing structure, where the front and rear enclosures are seamlessly connected. The result is a deep, uncolored bass with remarkable presence, where you can physically feel the natural flow of air vibrations from the driver to your ears.

Refined design and uncompromising specifications

At just 363g (excluding cable), the DX6000 offers long-session comfort thanks to its open-back architecture and optimised weight distribution. Each model ships with a 3-metre OFC balanced XLR cable, ensuring low-noise signal delivery for reference listening setups.

Sensitivity: 83dB/mW
Impedance: 47Ω
Weight: 363g (excluding cable)
Cable: 3m OFC XLR

Manufactured on its own dedicated production line in Japan, every unit undergoes strict quality control and manual acoustic matching by hand.

Pushing forward Final’s legacy

The DX6000 is a significant milestone for Final, representing a new price category and conceptual leap in their headphone range. Sitting between the renowned Sonorous and D8000 series, it brings together five decades of engineering excellence with a modern aesthetic and a no-compromise acoustic vision.

The Final DX6000 will be available from 28th April 2025, priced at £1,899 / €1,999 / $1,999, from Hifiheadphones, Audio Sanctuary and other authorised retailers.
