SPL Audio releases Phonos duo & Crossover Mk2
mardi 13 mai 2025, 14:05 , par Gearslutz
![]() Phonos duo The RIAA Phono Preamplifier – twice as nice. Phonos duo is a phono preamp for turntables with moving magnet (MM) or moving coil (MC) cartridge systems and offers balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs. Six different capacities for MM systems and impedances for MC systems can be selected for perfect adaptation to cartridge systems. This makes Phonos duo the most versatile SPL RIAA phono preamplifier. Whether moving magnet (MM) or moving coil (MC) cartridge systems – the SPL VOLTAiR technology and the RIAA filter in the legendary Douglas-Self design form the fundament for an outstanding phono sound. Phonos duo will be a further product in the SPL product portfolio and will not replace the SPL Phonos phono preamplifier. Both phono preamps will be part of the SPL product range in the future. Crossover Mk2 The analog crossover in its second generation. The second generation of the SPL Crossover features even more crossover frequencies and an extended range of functions – making it the best and most versatile SPL crossover ever. The perfect integration of bass loudspeakers or subwoofers can be difficult. There are almost only digital crossovers for this purpose. But who wants to convert back to digital in an analog high-end playback chain? Our analog Crossover Mk2 sets the crossovers anew and rewards with outstanding listening pleasure – thanks to the SPL VOLTAiR technology. The Crossover Mk2 is the successor of the SPL Crossover and will take over its place in the SPL product portfolio. Phonos duo and Crossover Mk2 will celebrate their public world premiere on May 14, 2025 at the High End in Munich, where they will be heard live for the first time at the Atrium 4.2, F211.
