23DSP Releases 1-Grain Granulator Plugin

Marco Allegretti's 23DSP has announced the release of 1-Grain, a new granular audio processor now available as part of the 1-Bundle package. 1-Grain is designed for straightforward operation through a simplified three-parameter control scheme. The plugin segments incoming audio into small grains and redistributes them across time using a 5-second circular buffer that continuously records the input signal. The Freeze Control halts buffer recording while maintaining current contents, enabling sustained manipulation of captured audio segments. A Character Selection offers three modes: Delayish for delay-like effects with longer grains, Texture for balanced general processing, and Glitchy for shorter grains with higher density and randomization. The FX Parameter serves as a macro control mapping to multiple internal granular parameters, ranging from sparse grain triggering at low values to dense grain clouds with extended pitch ranges at high settings. Technical Specifications 1-Grain operates with grain density from 0.1 to 50+ Hz trigger rates and grain durations spanning 30ms to 600ms depending on character settings. The pitch range extends ±12 semitones with musical interval quantization. The processor supports up to 15 concurrent grains and includes built-in DC blocking, soft limiting, and integrated stereo reverb with comb filter topology.
