Enjoy making ambient, experimental or textural soundscapes? Drop in a sample and it turns the sound into a playable map. Using spectral synthesis and 2d mapping techniques, each sound you use has a unique shape.

Here's the summary from the docs:

Quote:

Solstice turns audio samples into explorable sound maps where each cell holds a spectral frame of your source material. Similar timbres cluster together naturally, forming a unique terrain for every sample. With completely smoothed frame transitions (no granular artifacts), you can freeze any moment or flow between different sonic regions. Click and drag or modulate movement to explore the sonic landscape directly, or play it like any instrument with your MIDI keyboard.

* Fully featured trial for 30 days available now, really easy just download away. When you trial ends anything you've made with it is still fine, you just won't be able to use the UI

* Extensive docs available on the website https://minuit.am/docs

* Comes loaded with 65 presets and samples

* Can drop your own samples in (is the most fun to play around with your own samples, use short tonal samples for best results)

We're very small and independent. We wanted to make something with enough complexity to make beautiful sounds, but with a very minimal and elegant UI. Open and happy to talk about how the technology works, very interested to see what people make with it:).

We’ve already been getting some great feedback and are very open to feature requests from users as we map out our development schedule.

We have a 40% off early bird sale on until the 28th (see website and hover date for countdown) - try it out a bit and see if it tickles you. Especially for you if you make ambient music. The reverb combined with the map traversal can make very lush and interesting textures.

We’re currently working on getting more videos, music examples and marketing material. If you’re an accomplished musician and like the look(sound) of this please get in contact.
