Positive Grid Releases BIAS X

mardi 23 septembre 2025, 14:42 , par KVR Audio
Positive Grid has announced the release of BIAS X, a new AI-powered guitar tone platform for Mac and PC. The software aims to change how musicians create and shape their guitar sounds by moving from a simple idea to a mix-ready tone in moments. BIAS X is the first fully generative, guitar tone design software tool powered by Agentic AI, enabling musicians to move from abstract idea to mix-ready tone within moments. From subtle finger dynamics to soaring leads; from punchy modern metal to dreamy ambient swells, BIAS X delivers highly detailed, authentic tones that embody the analog character of tubes, speakers, and circuits. The result is tone that feels as real as it sounds—present, powerful, and deeply expressive. BIAS X combines a new tone engine with what Positive Grid calls 'Agentic AI.' This AI is designed to understand musical language, allowing users to generate tones using simple text prompts or even by analyzing existing audio files. The goal is to feel less like tweaking knobs and more like having a conversation to find the right sound. How the AI Works The core of the new workflow revolves around a few key features: Text-to-Tone: Users can type descriptive prompts like 'a crunchy rhythm tone like a famous '90s rock band' or even more abstract feelings to generate a starting point. Music-to-Tone: You can upload an audio clip, and the software will analyze it to recreate the guitar tone. AI Refinement: Once a tone is created, you can ask for live edits using natural language, such as 'make it a bit brighter' or 'add more gain.' Of course, users can still dive in and manually tweak every parameter if they prefer. The AI is meant to be a fast starting point. The BIAS X Tone Engine Under the hood, a completely new tone engine powers BIAS X. It relies on machine learning and circuit-level modeling to reproduce the behavior of analog gear. The engine analyzes how tubes, circuits, and speakers interact to deliver a dynamic response that reacts to the player's picking and volume changes. Key Features: A Complete Tone Platform: BIAS X includes 33 amp models, 63 effects, and a new cabinet simulation section developed in partnership with Spectre Digital. IR Loader: You can load and blend two of your own impulse responses for custom cabinet sounds. Advanced AI-powered Amp Models: The sound engine analyzes preamps, power amps, and transformers to capture dynamics like transformer sag and power amp response. Versatile Effects: Effects are built with component-level modeling, trained on vintage analog gear. Drag-and-Drop Workflow: The interface has been redesigned for a cleaner, faster experience, allowing you to build and rearrange signal chains visually. Dual Signal Chains: You can split your signal into two parallel paths, each with its own set of amps and effects, for creating wide, layered, or complex tones. Flexible Routing Matrix: Experiment with parallel paths, stereo splits, and a global Doubler effect for added width. Pricing and Availability BIAS X is available now for $149. An upgrade price of $99 is available for registered owners of qualifying Positive Grid Spark and BIAS products. BIAS X is compatible with macOS and Windows and comes in VST3, AU, and AAX formats. An internet connection is required for the AI features. YouTube/gqxrRE9xJaM Read More
