Slate Digital Releases Virtual Mix Rack Modules as Standalone Plugins
Slate Digital’s most iconic modules now run on their own or in the rack. Same legendary sound, new ways to build your mix.

Slate Digital, a leading developer of world-class audio plugins for music production, today announced the highly anticipated release of its Virtual Mix Rack (VMR) modules as individual, standalone plugins called ‘Virtual Modules’. The initial rollout begins today with the release of best-sellers FG-Stress and the Virtual Console Collection, with a total of 36 Virtual Modules in a staggered release schedule.

The decision to offer these modules as standalone plugins is a direct response to longstanding user feedback and usage data. While the Virtual Mix Rack provides powerful channel strip functionality, many customers have expressed a desire for the flexibility and convenience of using a single plugin. Producers and engineers can now utilize their favorite Slate Digital processors directly within their digital audio workstation (DAW) without the need for the VMR rack, for instance seeing "FG-Stress" or "VCC" directly in the insert list, immediately reflecting the intended processing at a glance.

"For years, our users have asked for the ability to use our VMR modules as individual plugins, and we're thrilled to finally deliver on that request," said Alexandre Vaneph, Product Manager at Slate Digital. "This release isn’t about changing what makes VMR great; it's about giving our users more power and flexibility.”

The Virtual Modules retain all the features and functionality of their VMR counterparts, including oversampling and external sidechaining for dynamic processors, while delivering the smoothest user experience yet. With a continuous scaling option and the ability to seamlessly share presets between both versions, users can get the best of both worlds.

The first group, available today, focuses on fan favorites FG-Stress and the beloved Virtual Console Collection (VCC). A special highlight is the VCC series, which many long-time users will remember as a standalone product before being folded into VMR. Their return to standalone form is a tribute to Slate Digital’s history and a nod to its most dedicated fans.
