Spitfire Audio announces 'Heart and Hollow - Folk Accordion' with Hunter Rogerson

Spitfire Audio today proudly announces the latest in the Hearth and Hollow range, with the release of Hearth and Hollow - Folk Accordion.

Seamlessly marrying the organic qualities of traditional instruments to a digital workflow, Heart and Hollow - Folk Accordion captures the unique personality of the accordion, setting the scene for fresh creativity, transcending genres and easily weaving into productions.

This marks the third instalment in the Hearth and Hollow series, crafted by Hunter Rogerson, a Los Angeles-based composer, audio engineer, and cinematic songwriter, whose work lends itself well to film and video game composition. This instrument was recorded in a creaky old living room deep in the countryside, aiming to capture a sense of intimacy, charm and roomy sound found in classic folk, Americana, and indie music. Immortalising the acoustics of this cabin in the woods, thanks to expert programming from Owen Bolig, the recording process captured a "breathy, wavering, fragile" sound, not typically associated with an accordion.

Hearth & Hollow - Folk Accordion has been designed with Room Control, a feature in all volumes of Hearth & Hollow instruments released to date. This feature allows you to position your accordion within the recorded living room space, blending its natural ambience. And for the first time, you can also seamlessly transport your Folk Accordion into the iconic rooms of the original Plucked Folk Ensemble or Folk Voices, creating a cohesive sonic tapestry and tying the trilogy of Hearth and Hollow libraries together.

● Accordion Ecosystem NKI: A companion instrument featuring "big textural pads" created exclusively from accordion samples, designed to describe the emotional setting of the library.

● Kinetic Energy Articulations: A key group of rhythmic, tempo-synced articulations that take advantage of the "pushing and pulling of the bellows".

● Connected Room Control: A new feature allows users to "throw it back" to the room sound of the first or second Hearth and Hollow instruments, spatially connecting all three libraries.

● Unique Sustain & Expression: Features "Rebellow," a sustain pedal option that emulates the physical act of pushing and pulling the bellows, and a "Soft Start" control for a more delicate attack.

● Mirrored Button Side: The low bass register is "mirrored and available on the button side," providing full creative control over the instrument
