Wire Grind Releases Arch Tremesis, a Threshold-Triggered Tremolo Effect Plugin

Wire Grind has announced the release of Arch Tremesis, a tremolo effect that's triggered by signal level. Key features include modulation that synchronizes with individual notes, control over the exact number of low frequency oscillations, and a sidechain-triggered LFO.

Modulation Aligned with Individual Notes

Arch Tremesis's LFO turns on and off depending on the incoming signal level, and this causes the modulation to synchronize with individual notes. The plugin works a lot like a ducked noise gate or ducked compressor but with modulation in place of ducking.

Set the Number of LFO Cycles

Want just one, two, or eight LFO cycles on every note? The "number of cycles" parameter does exactly this. Users can also choose from three cycle mode options, "at least," "at most," and "exactly." This setting is applied to the "number of cycles" parameter, and it can dramatically alter the tremolo's sound.

Sidechain-Ready

Just as with many noise gates and compressors, the effect can use an external sidechain as the trigger signal. This has many potential creative uses. For example, a percussion track could be used to trigger modulation on a pad sound.

Summary of Features:

Threshold-triggered oscillations
11 modulation waveform options
Internal/External sidechaining
Ducking functionality
Adjustable LFO cycle count
Onset delay control
Lookahead functionality
Linked & independent channel processing
Undo/Redo functionality
A/B settings toggle
Trigger signal scope

Arch Tremesis is on sale for $20/€17 (regular $50/€42) until October 15th, 2025. A free time-unlimited demo version is available for those interested. The demo cannot save presets, and it will periodically add a sine-sweep to the output.
