Virharmonic announces Prim Cello Plugin (VST3, AU & AAX)

Virharmonic has opened pre-orders for their new Prim Cello. The Prim series is foremost a solo legato based instrument making use of the Virtual Performer tech used in Virharmonic's previously released Bohemian and Instant series of solo instruments which makes articulation choices based on the composers play input. While Virharmonic's Bohemian series offers a broad range of articulations and play styles as a 'Jack of all trades', the Prim series focuses primarily on legato and bowing technique along with longer captured bows. A new Cellist was brought in to record with his rich timbre Cello offering a different sound and expression, the virtual performer was reprogrammed to reflect this approach in performance. The Prim Cello has similar performance modes as the Bohemian Series making use of Moods to change the style of playback. Solo, second solo, trio and chamber modes are also available which imitate a larger body of players including Maestro Poly Legato and crafting to blend legatos with other bow/articulation types. The Prim series also leans more heavily on the Virtual Performer tech as the priority is directed to performance and ease of play rather than MIDI editing in post, although MIDI editing is possible for those who wish to. The Prim series was recorded at Virharmonic studios in the same environment as their other instruments, so it plays well with the Bohemian Series and the 'Light Bohemian' known as the Instant Series.
