KORG Updates KORG Collection to Version 6, Adds TRINITY, PS-3300 Synth Emulations, and SGX-2 Premium Piano

KORG has announced the release of KORG Collection 6, a significant update to its suite of software synthesizers that meticulously recreates its legendary hardware. The new version expands the collection to 20 products in total, adding software emulations of the TRINITY music workstation, the rare PS-3300 polyphonic analog synthesizer, and the SGX-2 premium piano sound engine. The KORG Collection aims to capture the authentic sound and behavior of the classic instruments it models, going all the way back to analog icons like the MS-20 and extending to digital classics like the M1. Three New Icons Join the Software Lineup Each of the newly added instruments defined its own musical era and offers a distinctive sound for contemporary music production: TRINITY: Marking its 30th anniversary, the 1995 TRINITY workstation is now faithfully recreated in software. It was an influential synthesizer, featuring a sleek silver body, the innovative TouchView GUI (the first synth with touchscreen operation), and high-quality PCM sound. The software version includes the ACCESS (Advanced Combined Control Synthesis System) engine and emulates the original D/A converters, plus all four optional sample expansions and the sounds from the TR-Rack version. PS-3300: One of the rarest and most revered synthesizers in history, the fully polyphonic analog PS-3300 was only produced from 1977 to 1981, with fewer than 50 units ever made. KORG states that its massive sound engine, which they compare to 144 MS-20s, has been meticulously modeled using cutting-edge technology and enhanced with modern features. SGX-2: This is the ultimate premium piano sound engine, originally featured in KORG's flagship workstations like KRONOS and NAUTILUS. It captures the tones of five concert grand pianos (German, Japanese, Italian, Japanese Small Grand, and Japanese Upright) using full-stereo, loop-free samples for all 88 keys. The detailed modeling also includes string resonance and una corda (soft pedal) samples for enhanced realism.
