Native Instruments has announced the release of Absynth 6, a major update to the company's long-standing semi-modular synthesizer. Developed in partnership with original creator Brian Clevinger, the new version modernizes the instrument's architecture with an AI-powered browsing system, full MPE integration, and expanded multichannel capabilities. The core of Absynth 6 remains its hybrid semi-modular engine, which combines granular, FM, wavetable, and subtractive synthesis methods. While the synthesizer retains its signature 68-point envelope generator for complex modulation, the update introduces MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) and polyphonic aftertouch support, allowing for per-note control over pitch and timbre.
