Steinberg releases VST Live 3
Steinberg takes its advanced live performance system to a new level of sophistication with VST Live 3, adding even more creative features to a system which can form the core of any live production.

Steinberg has today announced the immediate availability of VST Live 3, which adds real-time video processing, improved DMX control, a new monitor mixer, and other new features to help deliver even better, more memorable live performances.

With VST Live 3, everything needed for a truly engaging live production — sound, lighting, video, and streaming — comes together in one powerful, easy-to-use environment. It’s the next big step toward a truly all-in-one live solution.

Real-time video
For a performance to really grab the attention, video is now as important as sound and lighting — whether that’s closer views of what’s happening on stage, for live streaming or capturing the show for later post-production and sharing highlights on social media. Able to process as many real-time or playback video sources as the system can handle, the integrated Video Director function and dedicated video automation track programs exactly when each camera or playback switch takes place. VST Live will then handle it all during the show.

Direct connection to OBS
Live video in VST Live 3 is further enhanced with a direct OBS connection, which allows easy live streaming of multi-camera content. With pre-programmed changes always in sync with the performance and no need for a footswitch or video operator to switch cameras, the sole focus can be on the content and presentation, safe in the knowledge that the online audience will always enjoy the best angles.*

* The free MixKey streaming software by Steinberg is recommended to improve audio setup and quality further. Positioned between VST Live 3 and OBS, MixKey automatically adjusts streaming audio levels.

New Monitor Mixer
Delivering the best performance is assisted by a brand-new Monitor Mixer for instant switching between monitor mixes. Whether using in-ear monitoring (IEM) or stage wedges, VST Live users are always in control of what’s heard while performing.

Enhanced DMX control
DMX control has been improved in VST Live 3. Now accessible directly in the mixer — with dedicated faders for intensity, mute, and solo — DMX programming is now in the same place as control for the sound production.

Individual lyric and chord tracks
Individual lyric and chord tracks mean every performer can now have their own, dedicated display. Lead singers can see the full lyric, backing vocalists only see the choruses, and musicians see their chord tracks displayed. It means every performer only sees what they need to see, allowing each to concentrate fully on their own part.

Enhanced sounds and rhythms
VST Live 3 now includes the powerful Flux and Trip VST synths, as well as the Groove Agent SE VST drum plug-in.

More improvements
Shared modules now allow loaded module instances to be used throughout a project, removing the need to create them for each song. Other improvements include input channels now being visible in the mixer, enhanced in-app help, and multi-language support — all dedicated to making live production easier.

Head of Pro Audio, Timo Wildenhain, commented: “VST Live is evolving to ensure any artist can deliver the kind of no compromise audio and visual production for today’s live and online audiences’ demands. VST Live 3 is a big step forward, bringing important improvements for both audiences and artists, while the intuitive ease of use at the heart of VST Live ensures the focus is always completely on the performance.”

VST Live 3 is available through the Steinberg Online Shop for 149 euros or 149.99 US dollars.
