Today’s “Keep It Groovy” lesson involves playing a blues shuffle in the key of E, and more specifically, a Texas style shuffle. Inspired by the bass line from Albert Collins’ “T Bone Shuffle,” this takes us through a 12-bar-blues progression.

Surrounding noises often make tuning more difficult, especially when using a clip-on tuner. Snark addresses the problem with the new ST-8 Titanium, which uses titanium and a rubber “sound shield” to block out unwanted ambient sounds.
Aaron Emerson, the son of the great Keith Emerson, was joined by a host of rock musicians to pay tribute to the late keyboardist. In this clip, the group performs “Lucky Man,” written by Greg Lake and originally performed by Emerson Lake and Palmer.

Virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier is gearing up to release his highly anticipated album, “Djesse Vol. 4,” on February 29th and now he’s unveiled a tour in support of it. Collier’s touring band features the formidable Robin Mullarkey on bass.
